I need replacement cycle wing stays and there seems to be a couple of options. Car is S3 imperial chassis. Currently running 13" Toyo R888's, there appears to be either the standard stays for 13/14" wheels or lowered stays for Avon ZZS/ZZR's which are a lower profile than the 888's. Does anyone have experience of using the lower stays with 60 profile tyres and if they will be suitable without tyres fouling and ease of removal/fitting wheels?
I'm sure I've recently seen a thread covering this topic but can't find it again!

Yes, there's lots in the archives but it's scattered across many threads.
How are you searching?
I suggest something like:

and refining from that.

Steve, I suspect the wing stay you are referring to is the one commonly known as the "race stay", I have these fitted and prior to swapping to ZZSs I ran a variety of 60 profile tyres without issue. Sometimes they need a little bending to clear the inner corner/edge of the tyre tread but easily done, also you might need to angle the wheel in at the top as you fit the wheel to clear the outer edge of the cycle wing. They do give a much lower profile appearance though.

I have just swapped from ZZS to R888r tyres using race stays, mine fit ok, no rubbing, no issues. Alan
Thanks for the feed back. Any chance of a photo of the race stays fitted via PM?
185/60/13 R888R's on 6.5" rims fit perfectly under race stays
For reference, I've just found a note I made in my phone ages ago, I haven't checked this but it might be useful ...
There should be a number stamped on the underside of the flat section of the stay (the section that the top swivel joint goes through) identifying the stays as follows:
1/2 = lower race stay
3/4 = road stays for 13"/14" wheels
5/6 = road stays for 15"/16" wheels.
