Hi
I'm considering a larger steering wheel for my 420 to replace my standard 260mm momo
is anyone local (Sussex/Surrey) running a 280 or larger for me to sit in and check leg room before I buy.
also looking at spacer to bring wheel closer - has anyone done this - what spacer did you use
thanks
There is some fore / aft adjustment on the column by slackening the clamp on the column in the engine bay. The correct tightening sequence is side bolts first then grub screw and finally locknut.
Not used one myself but seen a few people use 10mm spacers.

Hi - My S3 has this larger 280 wheel which (apparently) was fitted as standard to the SV. Every car is different (seat combos, lowered floored, etc) so hard to gauge legroom in another vehicle. Mine's on a QR boss so you'd be welcome to try on your car if it would fit. PM me if interested.
Cross-threaded.

I thought I was losing the plot for a moment as I was certain I'd posted about the column adjustment and spacers but my words were absent in the other thread.
Jonathan has proved conclusively I'm sane after all!

I went from 260 to 280 on my 420R, way nicer on the road (particularly over bumpy surface, although I keep promising myself to sort my bump steer to improve that aspect as well!)and not a problem on track. My car is in Devon most of the time but Hampshire fairly regularly. If you are around those locations you are welcome to try it. It's removable of course.

I tried 280 I'm my S3 with lowered floors and S Type seats. Felt good but I did find it pushed my elbows over to passenger side of transmission tunnel and felt cramped with doors on. I'm only 1.70 m tall.I ended up going back to 160.
thanks
