The bodywork is good showing some signs of use around the front bumper and sills commensurate with mileage. Price is £65k.I am an experienced Porsche owner and know the cars well. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss the car in more detail or arrange a viewing. Thanks for looking. Leadership Team Andrew 21 Edney Posted October 6, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted October 6, 2022 Just being pedantic, as not looking to buy, but do you mean 9 May 2023 for the MoT or is it currently not road legal?
Blackmamba
Yes, now corrected. Thanks
Wrightpayne
Did you sell? - this is a fabulous looking car. Since an early age in the 70's I've lusted after a 911. I always wanted an air cooled 911 but with prices escalating I bought a 996.2 about 5 years ago for well less than the price of a new Fiesta.I've spent money on it improving tired bits and pieces on the car - some necessary and some not so. It is parked up in the winter, starts first time in the spring and drives like a taught leopard. It is worth more than I bought it for (unlike my Skoda Superb's losing £3k p.a.) They have the best worlds of the analogue driving experience but the safety features of a modern car - look at the A pillar thickness compared to an SC!The GT3 version is the pinnacle of the marque - with tbe Metzger engine void of all the (occasional) catestrophic issues of the normal 996 and everything else honed and optimised for performance. For me a 996 GT3 is definitely on the lotto short list and a bargain compared to the 997 GT3's
Leadership Team Shortshift Posted May 8, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted May 8, 2023 I agree that the 996 GT3 is something of a bargain today, Ian, but then the 997 GT3 definitely moved the game on in all sorts of areas and still feels remarkably like a modern car even today. Those Metzger engine though... Everyone needs to experience one at least once in their lives!James
Blackmamba
Thanks for the positive comments, I still have the car. Had a couple of great road trips in it and decided to keep it a bit longer. Now that spring is here, I'm using my other cars more and this is back in storage unfortunately.I've been lucky enough to have several 911s over the years and the "best" model depends on what you want to do with it. The 996.1 is very simple and great fun to drive.
