graearea
Hi!Following on from the 70 sets of my pedal plugs I've supplied to you lot, I've come up with a new way of paying for super-unleaded. After a few months testing including 2000 miles and 4 trackdays, I am happy to offer my new larger pedal extensions: The body is curved to provide a much larger contact point for your foot, meaning much more comfortable and even easier to heel-and-toe. I'm supplying with black grip tape (skateboard stuff, so decent)The back has a marker for drilling a small hole to fit a self-tapper for increased anti-rotation.where the drill hole is to be put the plastic is heavily reinforcedI'm doing these for 40quid+6p&p and can do any usual colour, but honestly, just buy some skateboard griptape of your wanted colour.any questions?everything on http://uberniche.co.uk as usualcheers! Leadership Team Shortshift Posted May 16, 2023 Leadership Team Share Posted May 16, 2023 Brilliant!I always end up fitting a bespoke pedal extension that presents in much the same way. This does the job with much less faffing. But surely you need a smooth - rather than a friction - surface, to allow smooth modulation?Next time I get a new Caterham, I'll also be buying one of these!James
graearea
interesting point. maybe I'll try it without. I'm just printing one off now so I can have nice pictures of one that isn't 2000 miles in and not the a mishmash of colours :D
7 wonders of the world
The skateboard tape is great on the clutch and brake pedals, meaning you can ditch the OE rubbers, but the throttle would be better smooth
Support Team Shaun_E Posted May 17, 2023 Support Team Share Posted May 17, 2023 Perfect - I've been looking for something like this for ages. Currently have a bit of bent aluminium which is OK but hard to get firmly attached.Form completed and payment sent
graearea
Winging it's way to you today Shaun! I'll skip the grip tape as it does seem unneeded. J
Support Team Shaun_E Posted May 18, 2023 Support Team Share Posted May 18, 2023 Great - thanks John. Won't be able to fit it for a while as the car is off to PGM tomorrow but once I get the car back, will try it out.
AlastairA
HI John - couple of questions : what is the increase in width of the new pedal outside the standard? Could it be metal printed rather than plastic? Thanks!
graearea
on the left side of the pedal it can be 10-30mm wider. on the right it's 8mmin theory it could be printed in metal. it would be extremely expensive. you'd be better getting something custom welded.
