Fashion advice is not normally my strong point, but I recently bought two pairs of these from Marks. Good quality, and very easy to turn into shorts, which makes them ideal for country walks, especially when the first part is through nettles and the rest is over wide-open downland (like yesterday's in Dorset).
Not nearly enough pockets in those. I get LA Police Tactical Pants, which while they don't have as many pockets as they used to, still have 10 of them. Have to buy in the US, mind. No doubt people think they look stupid, but I really don't care.
Lidl or Aldi workwear is good quality - I've got cargo style trousers from Lidl, insulated ones from Aldi and shorts from both. Site workwear from Screwfix lasts well. I wear them for pretty much everything except posh outings but I'm not a dedicated follower of fashion.

But Rohan don't make trousers ("Bags" in their marketing) in my size. I used to buy from them more than 20 years ago but gave up on them once they dropped my size from their range.

Also not an expert but I have a couple of pairs of these that have worked well.
