Yep you're right, it occurred to me this morning as I was driving to work that i'd completely misunderstood my own findings. I refer you back to this bit

apparently I have no idea how speeds work Rofl

To hopefully clarify:

40mph on the dash shows as 55kph gps speed on my phone, and as such, the dash is indeed over reading.

Minus 3 and a thin layer of snow on yesterday's drive to work.

And that's why I changed to winter tyres! Can you imagine these conditions on Avon ZZRs?!

You are a brave, brave man Rofl (although, really, I am jealous of you driving it in snow)

Next, recreate this for our enjoyment Pete.

Let's see what I can do. Wife has suggested going to the mountains this Sunday, but that'll be in the Audi. Maybe i'll have time on Saturday.

So I didn't manage to get to the mountains, instead we spent a lot of Saturday in Ikea.

Saturday morning I did the short drive to my local parkrun. I did the journey with the roof up because it was snowing, and I was wearing shorts. With the roof up and the heater on, the cockpit turns into a sauna!

The drive includes a short section of motorway and whilst the road was clear of snow, the slip road was not. It was quite the experience going sideways in 4th gear as a truck comes barrelling past as I try to join the carriageway.

The winter tyres worked a treat, allowing a bit of rear end slip whilst still being controllable. There's no question about it, the ZZRs I had on previously would have been utterly useless in this weather!

My little excursion did mean I picked up some snow mind.

I now desperately need to find a proper car wash to clean all this crap off!
