Address to a Haggis:
Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o’ the puddin’-race!
Aboon them a’ ye tak your place,
And then, O what a glorious sight,
On the bonnet o’ a seven, Superlight.
Weel are ye wordy o’ a grace
As lang’s my arm.
I'm ready, this is all I need.

Stephen, they all look unopened, you must have had a miserable New Year !
I haven't tasted any of those whiskies but Benronach isn't too far away and probably uses water from Mosset Burn which originates in Speyside direction so I must buy a bottle when I am passing later this year.
Slange Var
New purchases as the previous stock had been exhausted and I had an urge to experiment! (and I took the ¾ empty blended one out of shot).

Well if you are planning on further experiments with whisky brands don't waste any time because 'still fuhrious' about Westminster interference in her unpopular Trans Gender legislation, Führerin Nicola is now proposing new legislation to ban all Scottish whisky labels and even Distillery signs, probably replaced with warning labels “This amber liquid can kill you”. We could soon be facing Prohibition with illegal stills, Speakeasies and bootlegging with illegal moonshine being delivered by souped up hot rod white van men!
Isn't it Canada that has overlooked that we (most humans) have the relevant enzyme to process alcohol? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-64311705?trk=public_post_comment-text
TBH:- Nicola will be aiming to harvest the taxes... https://www.theguardian.com/food/2023/jan/25/scotland-whisky-industry-bust-boom-exciting-new-distilleries

Happy Burns Night!
I suspect I posted this the last time the subject of whisky cropped up on Blatchat, but it seems appropriate!
Veggie haggis for me this evening, unfortunately, as my wife & stepdaughter are both vegetarian.
The whisky will definitely be real though!
I'm half Scot , and so the Haggis has already been stalked , and will be consumed with a good Rhone wine - the Auld Alliance and all that (a' that ?) . For reasons which remain inexplicable , our decades long love affair with Laphroaig , Talisker and even Highland Park has cooled. Dare I admit that both Joanne and I now prefer Jack Daniels ?

Interesting links
The Canadian link is particularly interesting because one of the Scottish Government people seemingly involved in this consultation is a certain Canadian born Lorna Slater
Had a Burns Supper tonight with our ski club in Arabba in the Dolomites. Haggis piped in addressed, Lassies Toasted and they replied. All to the amusement of our Italian hosts and other guests in the hotel.
