Went into my local town today (Tiverton).
Parked in a car park and sat a few yards away on a bench to makes some calls.
Watched quite a lot of people stop, look, peer into and take pics of the Caterham. All good.
Along comes a couple with a pram. Chap lobs rubbish into the Caterham as he passes.
I think he was a little surprised to hear "I f*cking saw that you filthy c**t.."
He went back and retrieved his rubbish and his wife walked past sheepishly as did he.
Unbelievable.
Education/pride/morals or rather lack of them. A large part of blame can be laid at the 2 tier education system which builds an us and them basic feel to the country. In the current economic climate this becomes more pronounced and evident to those with less. There are solutions but they will never happen, well not in my lifetime anyway
Well done for saying something Ed. A lot of people would just avoid confrontation, I'm a pretty placid guy but stuff like this makes my blood boil!
Swearing in public ? Almost as bad as littering .
I think it's the nobody is a looser at school, everyone wins and gets a prize.
They leave school and reality hits, they become sad, sadistic and jealous.
Cut their goolies off.
Sorry to hear. That sort of behaviour (and worse!) does make me think twice about taking the Seven out and parking it up somewhere.
Please don't let it put you off. It's bad behaviour but it's rare.
I recently tried to find out what's known about why people litter. This was the best unpaywalled review that I found:
"Zero Waste Scotland: "Rapid Evidence Review of Littering Behaviour and Anti-Litter Policies"

Its sad because most people are good, but it only takes one green eyed monster to go a step further and damage the car...
The only incident of that nature I've ever experienced was when I returned to the Caterham to find chewing gum on the driver's seat.
It happened many years ago. It was surprising because the car was parked in the car park at Loton Park hill climb at the time, where I'd have imagined anyone present would be a respectful enthusiast.
#2 I'd agree with you there, Wild Bill, though it seems to be a taboo subject.
Look on the bright side Tiverton must be a nice place as the first thought through his head must have been "I cannot drop litter on the floor" it is just a shame that his second thought seems to have overloaded his brain
