Also our first time on the fcr , travelling over from Luton to Chepstow Friday morning and staying just up the road from the start .
Forecast looking good at the moment
Looks like I'm navigating this year, so spending a bit more time thinking about route planning - I should really know the route already . I know there's been a lot of talk about how to get the route-map onto a "device" to use on the day and there aren't many options.
I've stumbled across Scenic 3 that has been recommended and wondered if anyone else here has used it and got comments. I know it says its for motorcycles but it seems to be quite well suited to Sevens (open air, lots of noise, not always easy to reach your phone, etc). Here's their website...
Scenic Motorcycle Navigation App
I've downloaded it to my iPhone and managed to get it to load the base UK map and the GTX file from the 2018 F&C post: 2018 Leg and Hairy Taffia Fish and Chip Run. So far I've managed to do everything I think I need using their first-time-user in-app credits - you get 20 credits free - ( I used 10 for the UK map, 1 for turn by turn navigation and 1 for importing the GTX file).
Any comments from anyone?
Caterham 420R SV, lowered floors and some creature comforts.

Hi Rob - I am going from Dunstable and also staying close by in Chepstow - not sorted a time to go yet, but flexible if you fancy company on the drive down
No idea what to write here??!!!
If your adding your own directions there is a minor error on No 42 on the blat route for 2018, was there last year too,
it should be the 3rd exit off the roundabout, takes you over the bridge then turn left - gave the locals another chance to see some great cars going both ways through Llanidloes
#10 I had similar questions as I'm camping as well and wasn't sure what's going to be there. Hopefully car and tent can pitch up next to each other, I'll bring my stove for a brew etc. Anyone got any photos?
Hi John, does that mean that the purple machine will not be coming ?
The camp site is in a Taffia members garden (thanks Gerard for offering this free to club members) It's plenty big enough and does have proper toilets (and shower). For catering I'd suggest either enjoying the tea/coffee/ bacon sarnies at The Piercefield from 8am or visiting The Two Rivers Hotel in Chepstow (which in addition to having some cars staying also offers breakfast). It's about 5 minutes drive from The Piercefield.
#18 - Yeh, I'm afraid no Purplemeanie this year.
I drove the Epynt range yesterday, and the authorities had just 'resurfaced' some of the roads with surface dressing, i.e. loose chippings. The bit of the B4520 through Capel Uchaf (Upper Chapel) and the southern section (maybe a third of the length, or thereabouts) of the B4519 from Upper Chapel to Garth were covered in loose chippings. Likewise, a significant section of the B4358 from Beulah to Newbridge-on-Wye. We saw a couple of other posses of resurfacing trucks out heading for who-knows-which roads.
