The annual Quay for my Car - Lotus / Caterham 7 night is confirmed for Friday 15th July on Poole Quay, Dorset from 6pm to 9pm. This is a free event we've enjoyed since 2009. An opportunity to park alongside the world's largest natural harbour and enjoy chat, food and drink with seveners from all over the country and occasionally further afield.
On Saturday 16th, we're headed to Gurston Down to watch the Hill climb - amazing, beautiful venue if you've not been with a reduced £10 entry fee on showing a CL7C membership card with plenty of 7s expected competing on the hill too.
This year, we've also been invited to join the Classic & Supercars day at Sherborne Castle, Dorset on the Sunday 17th July (9am to 4pm) - a long running large and great event at a cost of £10 per car - this must be booked and paid for in advance, organised by Phil Roberts.
Please let me know (on here or private message) if you'd like to come, we don't need to book Poole Quay, but we do need to book Sherborne Castle and pay in advance. Thank you so much to Phil Roberts and the rest of the Dorset and New Forest team
Many thanks,
Jon
I was at Poole last year, what a great turn out. Not all Caterham/Lotus 7's but also some weird and wonderful machinery. Looking forward to attending again this year. Not sure if I can make Sherbourne Castle as well yet.
Last year, the A31 was shut at Alton going back to Guildford. Detour took me via Petersfield!! Hopefully a better run this year.

Looking to add a Saturday out supporting the Lotus 7 Speed Championship at nearby Gurston Down hill climb and possibly a New Forest BBQ that evening too. Watch this space!
Many updates! A triple header now confirmed. Please see the original story for details and get your Sherborne Castle Classic & Supercar show places booked!
Quay for my car is a great evening out with some decent blat routes in the beautiful surrounding Dorset countryside. Not wanting to steal Jon's thunder but the pre-event meet was at Curry's ///stroke.tiger.orchestra as a holding area as access to the Quay was all about punctuality if I recall.
I am sure Jon will be along shortly to confirm this is the case.
Move fast, stay low.
Thanks Frogman, yes, we can only enter the Quay from the lifting bridge end now and strictly no admittance before 6pm. Therefore, as usual, we will have a pre-meet from around 5pm to gather everyone together. If any of you are around much earlier and want to catch up, let me know as I'll be taking the whole afternoon off work.
Jon
I'll be taking the afternoon off as well. Coming down from Guildford, normally takes a couple of hours but could be down there around 3ish if people were meeting somewhere earlier in the afternoon.
If not, I'll head to Currys, Wessex Gate for 5.
