Soft bits for sevens long nose shower cap
I'm trying to order a shower cap from SBFS but my mirrors aren't in the normal place on the doors. SBFS are taking an age to get back to me on this so could someone who has one on an S3 with FIA bar please check how it fits round the mirrors and how much further back they could be without causing any problems with the fit? Thanks

Peter, I'm not sure that this will help but the mirrors on my car use the mirror mounts made and supplied by another member (name escapes me right now, apologies to all - edited to say they are the Eccles mounts) which accommodate these non-standard mirrors and i can confirm that they fit the long noise shower cap fine.  You don't say where your mirrors are fitted.  My car has an FIA bar.

Due to this website's very awkward means of uploading photos (I've done it in the past but not often enough to remember how to get the best result, despite the guides on how-to on here - it's just too difficult Thumb Down) and Mac's use of HEIC format instead of JPG which is another irritation when dealing with images for this website, the image below may not be very clear.  I seem to recall that SBFS have another version with a bigger opening for screen pillar mounted mirrors that could be a better (& more expensive) option.  I should add that the fit of my mirrors is better than it looks in this image which was taken quickly when i first received the cover.  Hope that helps - if at all

You may well have resolved your query with SBFS by now but in case you haven't, I've fitted the shower cap again and taken these two photos which shows in more detail the cutout for the door mirror.  As stated previously, my mirrors are attached via the Eccles mounts to the side screens and are in a broadly similar position to the standard Caterham mirrors.

Hi Peter

I had the same on my last S3 and I had various mirror options, I ordered the standard screen option and trimmed the Velcro to suit the different options.

The Velcro is wide so you can trim it to suit your mirrors. the delivery delay is and lack of return calls or emails is very frustrating though.

Morning gents. Thanks both of you, SBFS have in fact come back and said my mirror positions will work with the standard cover so it's now on order. I should have said that I have Spa mirrors mounted on the doors about40 to 50mm further back than the standard big mirror position.

That's good.  When I ordered mine SBFS were very helpful in deciding which one would suit my car.  I sent them a photo of the mirror position which quickly sorted the correct cover.  It's a nicely made bit of kit as well although folding it up to go back in the bag is a bit of a conundrum.  If only SBFS would make a video of how they fold them - that would help.  All part of the fun I guess.

Thanks for that. I'll see if I can take a video when I unwrap it and play it backwards when it needs to go back in the bag!

Interesting I have no trouble repacking it.. undo on car, flip it over, fold each side in across seams clearly there for the purpose (kidding but true), then fold in half front to back, then again, and maybe again, then roll up from side to side and slide in to the bag. all lines disappear in the first side folds.

like bed sheets.
