Any one use Peter James Insurance.
I've just had my best quote from them by far so far. Just wondering how they are to deal with in the case of a claim etc.
I am currently with MSM who are nice people to deal with but after a ring round I have had better quotes.
Have you tried Frank Pickles and A-Plan? I think they have quoted the lowest prices recently.
Could we persuade you to share the quotes?
Jonathan
MSM renewel £380 (reduced to £350 when phoned) Protected. Includes European breakdown cover. Excess £200. Windcscreen £75
A-Plan £280 Protected. Includes European breakdown cover. Excess £200. Windscreen £75
Peter James £230. Their policy/scheme does'nt need to take into account any NCD. Includes European breakdown cover. Excess £200. Windscreen £75.
LLoyd & Whyte was £218. But they don't include European breakdown cover. This is worth about £70 and included with the above quotes. Excess £150. Windscreen £90. which rises to £150 if you opt to fit it your self as you are then classed as an un-autherised repairer.
Best to get it included rather than use the AA or RAC who are much dearer by far.
Gary
PS all above are with 5000 miles per year.

Thanks: that's really helpful.

Jonathan.
I thought I read on here that Frank Pickles was only insuring cars under a value of £14000

Hi Gary, I'm doing the same process today
Just called Pickles and was told "we have a long list of conditions we can't quote for now", the first was they can't quote if value is over £14,000, and I didn't get beyond that.
She wouldn't tell me what the others were so I can't post them on here to save people wasting their time calling them
Glynwood's renewal is best for me so far, and quite a bit lower than your quotes above, but only tried 2 others. Will post up quotes when complete

I have just had LLoyd & Whyte ring me back after I queried the windscreen excess, regarding having the excess wavered if we fit it our selves as per MSM who i am currently with.
Well..it's still £90 to have an authorised repairer do it but if I fit it myself I am classed as a none authorised repairer so the excess will be £150 sir. Complete opposite to MSM's stance
They clearly don't understand the term 'Kit Car.'

Maybe they know how cack-handed you are Gary
Adrian Flux have a similar policy in that it was £90 excess if you used their repairer, or £125 if you don't.

BTW, best insurance quote so far is £115 (for 7000 miles)
