On Saturday, 3rd September the Club is holding The Big Picnic at Kelsall, which is about seven miles East of Chester.
And the price of a ticket? Well, that's up to you. You can bring as many of your family as you wish, just pay what you believe is fair to the Club's charity PCR. Tickets are available until midnight on Monday, 29th August and may be booked at:-
While we'd all love to see your seven there, you are free to come in whatever car you wish.
The event is being generously hosted by Club member Barry Searle on his 70 acre Ashton Hayes estate between 12:00 and 16:00 and is being organised by the Club's Cheshire & North Staffordshire, Merseyside & District, Lancashire & District and North Wales areas.
This private and exclusive event is for Club members and their families to come along and enjoy the grounds. Bring whatever it is that’s your personal favourite picnic food for a great day out. The Club is arranging for tea, coffee and squash to be available. We’re even having some cakes made for the occasion, and proceeds from them will also go to PCR.
If you'd like to work off a few of those picnic calories there'll be a GPS Challenge, strolling around the estate's arboretum, looking for checkpoints. And the Club's local ARs are also organising some silly games for those willing to take part, or if not, just enjoy watching those who are.
With parking for over 100 cars, and the tractor garage, glass house and the Club's new inflatable shelter we reckon having enough shelter for at least 80 people in the event of a shower.
The lovely city of Chester is nearby, recently claimed to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing cities in the world, with the highest number of building fitting the Golden Ratio. You can also visit Chester's famous monthly Maker's Market, being held on the morning of The Big Picnic. And, 'No' I'm not being paid by Chester's Tourist Board!

Must get my finger out and book my tickets.
Is Fern going to be doing one of your Hoodie Challenges, James?
Alan
Hi Alan
Fern and I will be there to answer any questions or to help film owners doing the challenge.
Fern now has new stripes/stickers all round due to the accident and if you have a look on my Chit Chat thread there is a sneaky peek of some PCR stickers.
Will you be doing the PCR Hoodie Challenge soon Alan?

Be great to meet you at The Big Picnic, James.
I'll have a go if I can get someone to film me. I have a CSR, so the hood is like the SV hood, so that means I have extra poppers to put on! You can be my Hoodie trainer.
Alan
Just booked my tickets. Hoping for a bumper turnout for a VERY good cause.

Pity it isn't 2 weekends later, I'm over from Canada and up in Formby for 5 days visiting my Mum in the middle of Sept.
James
Alan no problem I will film anyone. Its really fun to do I think. SV's will be easier to get in and out of so I'm sure it balances out. Plus the cars are so different with different seats and things. It's all about having fun and making some money for PCR.

Aerobod/James, I'm sorry you won't be here for the date but if you contact LADS https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/area-meetings/lancashire-and-district-lads there will be a few members who will find time to meet you, take you out for a blat and have a chat.
And I'm sure your mother will be delighted to see you.
