Just a heads up from a local. Donington Park Farmhouse (premises next door to the circuit that we used as the Club base for the 60th celebrations), has a music festival on that weekend which is why those that may be trying to book are finding that it's pretty much (if not completely) full.
Thats where I tried to book myself and yes it is full - so I have booked in to the priest house hotel. Now the SWMBO has decided to come as there is no tent involved!!!!!
So not only can I not have a beer or two onsite but the boss is also there to stop me buying anything as well!!!!
Nic - Andrea and I are also booked into the Priest House hotel for Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd September. Hopefully see you there. And when I say Andrea - it might actually be my sone James - we'll decide who's been the best behaved nearer the time!!
Does anyone have any idea if there is a we can use at the circuit? I camped for the 60th, but I think that site was where the aforementioned music festival is.
Ah, hang on a minute I've just had a quick look at DP website and noted this under 'Accommodation'.
"Make the most of your visit to Donington Park with an overnight stay. There’s an abundance of hotels and other accommodation available locally; alternatively at many weekend race events you can camp onsite."
Hopefully 'on-site' doesn't mean DP Farmhouse next door.
Further investigation required as part of our broader preparations.
I'm in the process of confirming what is / isn't available with MSV / DP directly.
DP race weekends usually partner with Donington Park Farmhouse next door, however it would appear that on this weekend there is the clash with the music festival DPF are holding.
I have rung MSV head office who are in the process of confirming with DP, whether or not camping will be available within the circuit perimeter.....this is not something they usually do, but can do if required.
Will update as soon as further info available from MSV directly. Clearly we will also have to advise Caterham, as it would appear they are not aware of the above.
With it being over a couple of days, what are folks doing who are traveling from afar? Local hotels? Camping? Only visiting for a day?

The only 'camping' I know of at the circuit is in the paddock, where they have hook ups for race team trailers etc.
Unlike other MSV owned tracks, DP is only operated by MSV and I don't think camping is allowed within the circuit boundaries.
We have a club leadership team meeting this coming Sunday evening, at which 50th celebration arrangements are on the agenda.

So if I understand this correctly the advertised offsite camping option on the event website links isn't actually available then?
