Looking forward to seeing Blue Jasmine in the next few weeks at a little cinema that's just opened in our village. It's been started by a local couple, they have posted a blog about their progress which is painfully honest and worth a read.

We watched The Hunt last night on Netflix with Mads Mickkelsen. Absolutely cringeworthy, psychologically intense, well worth a watch.
Pay attention to the subtitles -- very dark and intertwined story
Finally got round to watching The Good Shepherd last night. I missed a couple of the subtleties of the plot, but then read the plot synopsis on Wiki and all made sense. One of those films (like Into the Wild) where I was a bit nonplussed whilst watching, but on reflection after the film had ended I looked on it more positively.
At the other end of the film spectrum, I also watched Ted over the weekend - I haven't laughed so much in ages
Looking forward to Blue Jasmine. I have a whole heap of Woody Allen titles to work my way through beforehand though....

For the pop-up outdoor cinema lasr weekend we showed
- Premium Rush which was largely overloked last year
and to show the younger generation that there are excellent films from their parents' generation
- Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Democratic dissent is not disloyalty, it is a positive civic duty
Our local film club is run by a lady who seems to like to challenge us, or maybe make us all suicidal, the last season contained "Into the Wild", "As It Is in Heaven" , "The Bee Keeper" and "The Return" (Vozvrashchenie) the Russian film not the American one, although we did have some respite when she tossed "Burn After Reading" and "Toy story 4 " 3 into the mix (Come to think about it Toy Story 4 " 3 is a bit of an emotional roller coaster as well) oh yes and ended the season with the 4hr cut of Laurence of Arabia, talk about a numb bum, Village hall chairs \" class=\"smiley\" />
