New facility thanks to Shaun:

"The web pixies have been busy with a few minor tweaks to our site. The biggest change is the addition of a new "one click image upload" button.

This will enable you to add a picture to a post by clicking the button and selecting the file from your local drive. No need to upload it to the site first. The picture is reduced to 640px across preserving the aspect ratio - I welcome feedback on whether that is about right. It seems to work OK on an iPhone as well but I haven't got an Android device to test on."

...

Edited: So far reported to work on Safari on macOS, on iPhones and iPad, but not on an S7. One report of inappropriate rotation on an iPhone, but I couldn't reproduce it.

When on an Android or Apple mobile devices, to access all of the formatting, smilies and photo upload options etc in the forum, you will need to set your device to "desktop site" in internet options. On Android devices this can be done by clicking on the three vertical dots on the top right hand corner of the screen (same position but with a different button on an Apple). Photos to follow.........

of course the irony of  this is that,  within a few days, unless the search is embedded somewhere visible at all times, someone will have to use the old search to find the new search, if they even know the new search is available .

Unless I'm missing something, the Google search doesn't perform as well as the forum's native search?  I did a search on my reg (H5 URF) and the forum search returns 9 pages of results whereas Google only returns a few (interestingly, sometimes 5 results, sometimes 1).  Does Google index the whole site reliably?
